The Assistant Manager will play a vital role in overseeing staff through effective hiring, training, coaching, and discipline, ensuring that staffing levels are adequate to meet business and budgetary needs. Part of the position involves coordination of comprehensive training programs covering cash handling procedures, food safety, sanitation, and compliance with state and local regulations. The Assistant Manager will be deeply involved on the operations floor, engaging with guests during service hours, monitoring both food quality and presentation, and swiftly resolving customer complaints and service requests to uphold Prairie Meadows' reputation for excellence.\n\nThe role also demands attention to detail in managing financial aspects including tracking revenue, payroll, food and beverage inventory, and controlling costs. Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- Minimum of two years of experience in food service or related field
- Minimum of one year supervisory or management experience
- Must be TIPS certified or able to pass the certification
- Must have or be able to obtain Serve Safe certification or industry related certification
- Experience with collective bargaining environments preferred
- Strong organizational and training skills
- Excellent customer service and people skills
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with persons of diverse backgrounds
- Able to lead and motivate team to achieve goals
- Knowledge of liquor handling laws pertaining to distribution, security, and management of minor employees
- Knowledge of Iowa Department of Health laws and regulations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills
- Experience with inventory practices, labor and cost of goods analysis and P&L statements
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs and push carts up to 150 lbs
- Must be able to work varied hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties
- Assist with hiring, training, coaching, and issuing discipline as needed and ensure staffing levels are adequate and meet budget requirements
- Coordinate training programs for all new employees for cash handling procedures, proper food handling, storage, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Engage with the operations floor during service by checking in with guests, monitoring food quality and presentation, and handling complaints and requests by guests in a timely manner
- Monitor staff sale activities, including POS register receipts, and investigate and report on shortages or overages from revenue locations
- Assist with tracking revenues, payroll, food and beverage costs, and other expenses
