The Concession Stand Runner role at ASM Global’s Oncenter venue presents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic food and beverage team focused on providing exceptional service during events. This part-time, non-exempt position, affiliated with Union Local 150, AFL-CIO, offers a competitive hourly rate of $16.87 and requires flexibility including availability for nights, weekends, holidays, and potentially long shifts. The Concession Stand Runner serves a vital function in the smooth operation of concession stands by ensuring timely delivery and stock management of food and beverage products. Responsibilities extend beyond delivery to include setup, inventory rotation, assisting with deliveries, and maintaining cleanliness and safety standards across concession areas.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • six months' experience in a food & beverage or warehouse environment preferred
  • must be able to stand for long periods of time
  • must have the physical ability to maneuver around the venue, at times walking and/or standing for 8-10 hours or greater, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs plus, and frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, and squatting
  • ability to work in a noisy, fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • six months' experience in a food & beverage or warehouse environment preferred
  • excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • exceptional hospitality and customer service skills, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • desire to work as a team
  • ability to make professional, independent, and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures
  • ServSafe and TIPS certification a plus

Job Duties

  • Transfer product to concession stands/carts while complying with inventory procedures
  • setup product in stands, rotate stock and inventory, and prepare for future events
  • help receive, unload, and store deliveries
  • stock, clean, and organize the commissary, stands, and surge areas
  • assist in pre-event setup through various duties and assist in post event breakdown
  • maintain a safe, clean, organized, and stocked work area following sanitation standards
  • maintain a professional appearance and professional relationship with coworkers at all times
  • provide total guest satisfaction through skilled and capable service in accordance with New York State laws and regulations as well as company policies, practices, and procedures
