Legends Global is currently hiring for a part-time, hourly Concession Cook position to support its Food & Beverage Department at the Mohegan Arena located at Casey Plaza. This role is fundamental in ensuring that concession stand operations run smoothly during events by overseeing the preparation and production of concession food items. Reporting directly to the Concession Stand Leader, the Concession Cook will play a vital role in delivering a seamless food service experience for patrons.
The core responsibilities of this part-time, non-exempt position include setting up cooking stations, managing cooking equipment like fryers and grills, and executing food preparation tasks efficiently. The Concession Cook must ensure that all cooking tools are prepared and organized ahead of events and that food items are produced according to safety and quality standards throughout the event. This position demands a keen attention to cleanliness, food safety procedures, and waste minimizing practices to maintain a hygienic, cost-effective concession environment.
In addition to cooking duties, the Concession Cook is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and order of the concession stand by cleaning equipment, sweeping, mopping floors, and handling disposal tasks such as trash and cardboard removal. Given the physical nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to handle repetitive lifting, standing for extended periods, and working in heated environments typical of concession stands during active event days.
The Concession Cook position requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting, is flexible with scheduling, and possesses reliable transportation. The schedule may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the event-based nature of the venue's operation. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in food preparation or cooking preferred
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds to shoulder height
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must pass background check
- Must have reliable transportation
- Ability to follow food safety and handling protocols
Job Qualifications
- Basic working knowledge of fryers, flat top grills, and roller grills
- Ability to stand for extended periods in heated, fast-paced environments
- Attention to cleanliness and detail
- Effective reading, writing, and communication skills
- Ability to work hours dictated by events including flexible schedule with days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team

Job Duties
- Sets up the cooks' station(s) and ensures all cooking tools are in place
- Filters and/or changes cooking oil as needed and disposes of spent oil properly
- Completes all pre-event food preparation as directed
- Prepares food items and maintains stock of cooked products during events while minimizing spoilage and waste
- Follows all food handling and safety procedures
- Breaks down cooking stations and cleans equipment after events
- Sweeps and mops concession stand floors and assists with trash and cardboard removal
- Performs other assigned tasks as needed
