Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Any combination of education, experience, and training providing required knowledge and abilities
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive hand movements
  • Ability to work in environments exposed to grease, smoke, fumes, chemicals, heat, and sharp objects
  • Ability to speak, hear, and see with close, distance, and peripheral vision
  • Compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations including ServSafe and HACCP
  • Ability to safely use standard kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Prepare food according to SMCEC guidelines and recipes
  • Observe and test foods for doneness including temperature checks
  • Grill, cook, and fry foods including garnishing meats
  • Plan and manage work orders to ensure timely serving
  • Season and cook food following recipes and experience
  • Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients using kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Portion, arrange, garnish, and serve food to patrons
