Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • two years of responsible community based, human and social services or senior program experience
  • or equivalent combination of education, work experience, and training
  • ability to work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • ability to travel
  • ability to obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid certifications
  • valid motor vehicle operator's license
  • ability to operate office equipment and computer software
  • ability to perform light physical tasks
  • ability to provide professional customer service
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of community based, human and social services or senior program experience
  • or equivalent education, work experience, and training
  • knowledge of general recordkeeping and administrative practices
  • proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Publisher, and PowerPoint
  • knowledge of modern office procedures and equipment
  • familiarity with senior center programming and senior population needs
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • excellent listening and interpersonal skills
  • strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and adapt to priorities
  • ability to follow instructions and maintain professional communication
  • ability to work independently and collaboratively

Job Duties

  • Answers phone, transfers calls, and takes messages
  • receives and directs visitors
  • assists in or maintains inventory and orders supplies
  • assists with program activities to ensure a safe and pleasant environment
  • promotes social and emotional well-being of seniors
  • manages senior center programs including class logistics and attendance tracking
  • provides technology setup and troubleshooting
  • compiles information and prepares reports
  • copies and collates materials
  • maintains and updates departmental records, documents, and spreadsheets
  • enters and retrieves data
  • handles routine information requests
  • maintains logs and records
  • verifies information and processes materials
  • performs daily office duties such as copying, filing, and mail processing
  • prepares donor letters
  • manages routine forms and correspondence
  • processes membership forms and data
  • provides customer service in person and via phone and email
  • supports program setup and maintains cleanliness and organization
  • searches files for information
  • assists with program planning and communications
  • types forms, cards, labels, and memos
  • performs related duties as required
