Job Requirements

  • High school diploma plus 1-year professional experience in security, crisis response, or human services
  • or associate's degree in related field
  • ability to foster a socially just, multicultural, and inclusive learning environment
  • knowledge of student development theory and its application in residential environment
  • ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships
  • ability to assess and meet needs of diverse underrepresented students
  • must be available during emergencies as essential personnel
  • must attend scheduled trainings and team meetings
  • must not be an enrolled University of Oregon undergraduate student

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma with 1-year professional experience in security, crisis response, or human services
  • associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Emergency Management, Psychology, or related field
  • ability to foster a socially just, multicultural, and inclusive learning environment
  • knowledge of student development theory and its application in a residential setting
  • ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships
  • ability to assess and meet diverse needs of underrepresented and underserved students
  • bachelor's degree in psychology, conflict resolution, or emergency management preferred
  • 2+ years experience in higher education residential setting focusing on student conduct or mental health response preferred

Job Duties

  • Conduct ambulatory rounds of University Housing residences
  • provide direct student support for mental and physical well-being concerns
  • mediate conflicts and de-escalate tense situations
  • enforce policies listed in the University Housing Contract and Community Standards
  • collaborate with Residence Life staff and campus partners, including Dean of Students office and University Police
  • participate in rotating on-call schedules and emergency response
  • attend regular trainings, team meetings, and supervision check-ins
