Job Description

This position is full-time, in-person, and exempt, reporting directly to the Marketing & Events Manager in the Development Department. The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility required to accommodate evenings and weekends as needed. This flexibility ensures the ability to participate in and lead community events, donor engagements, and special outreach activities, all integral to the role's success.

In the role of Donor and Community Engagement Coordinator, you will play a pivotal part in advancing the mission of Our House by building, stewarding, and growing relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and the broader community. This position is crucial for cultivating new donors, enhancing ongoing donor engagement, and increasing awareness of Our House's impactful work. Your efforts will directly influence the organization's capacity to secure funding and community support, thereby broadening the reach and depth of services provided.

Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of outreach and relationship-building activities, including representing Our House at public events, coordinating media opportunities, managing donor communications, and supporting fundraising initiatives. You will serve as the primary point of contact for donor engagement, leading outreach efforts that welcome new supporters and deepen existing connections. Collaboration with the Board of Directors and the Development team will be essential, as will strategic planning to align outreach programs with overall organizational goals.

The coordinator's role extends to creative engagement strategies, campaign development, and content creation for digital platforms to highlight success stories and foster community involvement. You will also liaise closely with the Volunteer Coordinator to maximize community outreach and integrate volunteer efforts into your engagement strategies, ensuring a unified approach to community building.

Our ideal candidate is a proactive, creative, and compassionate individual with solid experience in donor cultivation, fundraising, or community engagement. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to connect with diverse audiences and to represent Our House effectively in various settings. Job Requirements

  • must possess a valid driver's license and vehicle to use in performance of job
  • the position requires some travel within Central Arkansas
  • must be able to pass criminal background checks, child and adult maltreatment registry checks, sex offender registry checks, and a pre-employment drug screen

Job Qualifications

  • experience in donor cultivation, fundraising, or community engagement is highly preferred

Job Duties

  • serve as a primary point of contact for donor and community engagement, cultivating and stewarding relationships with individual, corporate, and community supporters
  • identify, engage, and cultivate new donors, funding prospects, and prospective partners, guiding them through tours, conversations, proposals, follow-up, and ongoing relationship management
  • develop giving proposals for private and corporate funders and steward them through the full giving cycle-from initial outreach to solicitation and continued engagement
  • collaborate with the Board of Directors by providing regular updates on donor prospects and major givers, and engage board members in identifying and cultivating new funding opportunities
  • coordinate recognition efforts for key donors, volunteers, and community partners to strengthen ongoing relationships
  • represent Our House at community events, speaking engagements, and outreach opportunities to raise awareness about Our House and build partnerships
  • develop and maintain a calendar of outreach opportunities, speaking engagements, and public events to ensure consistent community visibility
