Job Description
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a premier sports and entertainment venue located in downtown Atlanta, serving as the home of the Atlanta Falcons NFL team and Atlanta United MLS team. Since opening its doors in August 2017, the stadium has become a landmark destination known for its distinctive architecture, including a retractable roof inspired by the ancient Roman Pantheon oculus, and a massive 360-degree HD video halo board that circles the interior, which is the largest of its kind in the world. Beyond professional sports, Mercedes-Benz Stadium hosts a wide variety of events such as concerts, cultural gatherings, and community programs, making it a central hub for entertainment and social interaction in the city. The venue also boasts an expansive fan plaza, multiple restaurants and bars, and offers fans exceptional game day experiences through its innovative facilities and hospitality services. Mercedes-Benz Stadium operates under AMB Sports & Entertainment, an organization that also manages the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, reinforcing its commitment to excellence and community engagement.
The available role is for a Seasonal Assistant position at The Home Depot Backyard, a vibrant 11-acre greenspace adjoining Mercedes-Benz Stadium that opened in Fall 2018. This outdoor venue is designed to complement the stadium by providing a flexible space for parking, tailgating, and a diverse range of fan activations on game days. Throughout the rest of the year, The Home Depot Backyard is transformed into a dynamic environment hosting hundreds of annual programs and events including fitness classes, concerts, markets, and cultural celebrations. The Home Depot Backyard represents a strategic initiative to reconnect Westside neighborhoods with downtown Atlanta by offering year-round programming that brings together diverse groups of people to share interests and build community.
This seasonal role spans six months from April through October 2026 and offers hands-on experience in community event planning, program logistics, customer engagement, and operations management within a high-profile sports and entertainment setting. The Seasonal Assistant will be responsible for assisting with the planning and execution of a wide variety of events and programs within the Home Depot Backyard's expanding programming matrix. This position involves interacting with customers, associates, and vendors, gathering data for feedback and quality assessment, managing inventory, supporting intramural sports and recreational activities, and acting as a brand ambassador for The Home Depot Backyard and participating sponsors. The role requires attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to balancing multiple priorities under the guidance of full-time staff. Physical activity and the ability to work outside in an open park setting are expected. This opportunity is ideal for motivated individuals looking to gain practical experience in event operations and community programming in a vibrant and visible Atlanta landmark setting.
