Job Description

Emergency Physicians Professional Association (EPPA), established in 1969, is a physician-owned and governed group that emphasizes a culture of mutual respect and camaraderie. With a legacy spanning over fifty years, EPPA boasts a team of more than 300 board-certified emergency physicians and advanced practice clinicians, including physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The association provides expert emergency care throughout the Twin Cities, St. Cloud, and various rural locations across Minnesota. EPPA also owns and staffs four Urgency Room locations within the Twin Cities metro area, further reinforcing its commitment to accessible and high-quality emergency healthcare services.

The Community Event Representative role at The Urgency Room plays a pivotal part in the organization’s community engagement strategy. This position acts as a brand ambassador responsible for representing The Urgency Room during community events near clinic sites, primarily supporting outreach efforts during the summer and fall seasons. This seasonal, casual role is designed to help amplify brand awareness, educate the public about available services, and nurture positive community relationships. The representative's goal is to create engaging, welcoming presences at events while handling event logistics such as transporting, setting up, and breaking down materials. This role is essential for showcasing The Urgency Room’s core values and dedication to care, serving as the public face at various outreach programs.

Ideal candidates bring experience in customer service, community outreach, hospitality, marketing support, or event coordination. A reliable personal vehicle and valid driver’s license with a good driving record are required due to transportation responsibilities. Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills are vital, along with the ability to work independently in offsite conditions. Reliability, punctuality, and an energetic, outgoing, and personable nature are important traits for success in this job. Community engagement is a central focus, as representatives must comfortably interact with a diverse range of individuals while maintaining professionalism on behalf of The Urgency Room. Current eligible employees of The Urgency Room may take on this role as an additional assignment subject to leadership approval.

This position offers more than just event representation; it provides vital support for EPPA’s mission by strengthening community connections and reinforcing the organization’s commitment to accessible and expert healthcare. Engaging with local communities at outreach events not only increases The Urgency Room’s visibility but also bolsters public understanding of emergency care options available. Through their presence and professionalism at these events, Community Event Representatives help build trust and rapport between the organization and the communities it serves, making a meaningful impact on public health awareness and support.
