Job Description
HankHank is a dynamic and innovative free social platform designed specifically for adults aged 55 and over. It serves as a vibrant hub where older adults can discover a wide variety of local events, foster meaningful connections, and build a sense of community. Backed by Wider Circle, a reputable organization committed to enhancing the lives of older adults, Hank's mission centers on reducing social isolation and promoting a thriving experience through real-world social engagement. The platform transforms the traditional notion of "staying active" into the more empowering concept of "thriving together," encouraging adults 55+ to live richer social lives in supportive environments.
The company operates with a vision to extend its footprint into new markets, bringing its innovative social engagement model to cities that can benefit from more connected older adult communities. Hank is exploring part-time and full-time roles with flexible hours, including temporary contracts spanning 3 to 6 months, offering a competitive wage of $20 per hour. This employment type reflects the company's dedication to flexibility and adaptability in meeting both organizational needs and employee preferences.
The Community Events Curator role is an essential part of Hank's expansion strategy, aimed at enhancing the platform's content richness and market relevance. This role is perfect for someone with a high-energy, community-driven mindset who thrives on creating impactful social experiences. The curator will act as the architect behind local event calendars, curating a diverse range of activities tailored specifically for the 55+ demographic. These activities include festivals, workshops, social clubs, and other engaging events designed to foster connection and active community participation.
An ideal candidate for this position bridges the gap between the efficiency afforded by digital tools and the nuanced intuition that comes from grassroots community knowledge. Leveraging AI and Google Suite tools, the curator will write engaging, SEO-friendly descriptions and maintain a consistent posting schedule on the Hank platform. Their role also encompasses managing data related to event performance and RSVPs to ensure comprehensive market coverage.
This position requires a deep understanding of the cultural landscape of specific markets such as Miami or Tampa and a passion for building community among older adults. The ability to interact actively with community members through event chat threads, answering questions and encouraging engagement, is vital to the success of this role. The Community Events Curator will also collaborate with management to analyze engagement metrics and adjust sourcing strategies to resonate more effectively with the target demographics in these cities.
Overall, the role is well-suited to a self-starter who is comfortable working remotely while maintaining high productivity and meeting weekly quotas. This includes being available during regular business hours and sometimes supporting in-person events. The position offers a unique opportunity to impact older adult communities positively while working within a flexible, venture-backed company environment. The wide-ranging exposure to digital content creation, community engagement, and strategic growth initiatives also offers invaluable professional development in the social tech space, particularly as the company continues to grow and innovate.
