Job Description

The University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) is a renowned public research university located in the vibrant Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metroplex. It is recognized as one of the largest comprehensive teaching, research, and public service institutions within the University of Texas System, with an enrollment exceeding 42,000 students. UTA is dedicated to advancing knowledge through rigorous academics, innovative research, and a strong commitment to student success and community service. Balancing its role as a high research activity institution and a welcoming environment, UTA ranks highly in military education, graduate salaries, and undergraduate ethnic diversity. The university boasts a global alumni network of approximately 280,000 individuals, including leaders within many Fortune 500 companies, contributing significantly to the region's economy and cultural vitality. The institution is expanding regionally, with a new campus planned and initiatives underway to strengthen its research and faculty base.

This position, Community Events & Alumni Coordinator, is full-time based in Arlington within UTA's College of Business (COB). It involves a dynamic role in planning and leading special events and community engagement initiatives that strengthen connections between the College, its alumni, donors, and community partners. The coordinator will have the vital responsibility of managing large-scale events such as award ceremonies, conferences, banquets, and community gatherings, ensuring smooth execution from planning to completion. Collaborating closely with multiple campus departments including the Marketing Team, this role focuses on coordinating logistics such as securing venues, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing budgets. Creating memorable attendee experiences by handling event design and technical production is a core part of the role.

The role also emphasizes alumni engagement by developing innovative programs and activities that foster alumni pride and sustained involvement with the College of Business. As a key liaison, the coordinator facilitates communication strategies, alumni relations efforts, and promotional activities across various channels including social media, newsletters, and websites. The position requires proactive outreach and feedback gathering to enhance program excellence and support academic ranking improvements. Travel to events and representing the COB at community functions is also expected.

This opportunity offers a competitive salary up to $54,000 based on qualifications and experience, with a standard Monday-Friday work schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Benefits include comprehensive health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and more as part of UTA's commitment to employee well-being and development. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline with at least two years of relevant experience in event planning, alumni relations, or program management. Experience in higher education or non-profit environments is advantageous.

Joining UTA as the Community Events & Alumni Coordinator means contributing to a vibrant academic community and enhancing relationships that support the College’s mission and values.
