The Community Engagement Coordinator serves as the frontline ambassador, greeting and engaging participants warmly, managing the intake process to ensure smooth access to services, and offering referrals grounded in a self-sufficiency model to empower families. In addition to direct participant interaction, the coordinator undertakes neighborhood outreach initiatives, contributes to data entry and analysis critical for program evaluation, and provides logistical support for various community events and meetings. The coordinator is expected to identify community trends and participant needs, advocate for necessary services, and participate actively in recruitment and networking efforts. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work cooperatively with diverse racial, economic, and cultural backgrounds
  • must be able to lift and move at least 25 pounds
  • availability for evening and/or weekend work
  • ability to climb stairs and navigate multi-level buildings without elevator
  • capability to bend, kneel, and reach especially during program setups
  • local travel required with reliable transportation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • bachelor’s degree preferred in Business, Management, Communications or related field
  • minimum 1 year experience working in schools or social service providers preferred
  • strong technological proficiency with Google Drive and especially Google Sheets
  • one to three years experience in non-profit or community settings preferred
  • strong written and oral communication skills
  • ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and team members
  • ability to work independently and take ownership of work

Job Duties

  • Guide and assist families through the intake process
  • interact with all participants in a warm and friendly manner
  • maintain familiarity with each partner organization and programming
  • provide resources and referrals based on the self-sufficiency model
  • advocate for needed services on behalf of participants
  • identify current trends and neighborhood families' needs
  • participate in outreach and recruitment efforts
  • communicate with participants daily using various forms of communication
  • guide participants through troubleshooting and navigating company sites and programs
  • take participant calls and provide accurate answers to inquiries
  • prepare snacks and light meals for families
  • tidy up space to maintain a welcoming environment
  • identify and help eliminate barriers restricting recruitment and services
  • complete reports and paperwork timely
  • enter program data into network databases
  • participate in training and staff development
  • serve on networking committees or work groups
  • assist with research collection and organization
  • lead and participate in programming with families and children
  • provide logistical support with sessions and meetings
  • perform other duties as assigned
