The organization delivers a wide range of specialized therapy and educational services that are tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. The Summit Center is well respected within the community not only for its transformative impact on individuals and families but also for its supportive work environment and dedication to its employees' growth and wellbeing.

The position of Community Engagement Coordinator at The Summit Center is a vital role designed to support the organization’s fundraising and outreach initiatives. This role, located in Amherst, NY, offers a full-time schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a work-life balance with 37.5 hours per week. The pay range of $24 to $25 per hour reflects the value The Summit Center places on experienced and passionate professionals who are motivated to contribute meaningfully to the mission. The Coordinator reports directly to the Assistant Director of Development and is primarily responsible for managing event planning, donor relations, and community partnerships.

The Community Engagement Coordinator plays a leading role in two of the organization’s signature annual events—the Summit Autism Walk and the Summit Gala. This includes developing comprehensive event timelines, coordinating with event committees, managing relationships with vendors and in-kind partners, and creating promotional materials to drive fundraising success. The role extends into community engagement activities such as securing sponsorships and partnership opportunities that benefit Summit students, families, and staff. The position also requires managing digital content and social media campaigns, including producing video content that highlights the organization’s mission and success stories.

In addition to the event and community work, the Coordinator supports volunteer recruitment and recognition efforts, tracks engagement metrics to optimize outreach strategies, and collaborates with multiple teams to ensure alignment with the organization’s fundraising goals. This multifaceted position requires excellent communication skills, creativity in marketing and digital media, and strong organizational capabilities.

At The Summit Center, employees enjoy a comprehensive benefits package including up to 32 days of paid time off, 14 to 16 paid holidays annually, potential for annual raises and profit sharing, health, dental, and vision insurance options with a medical opt-out payment, and a 401K retirement plan with an employer match. Additionally, the organization offers an Employee Assistance Program providing free mental health counseling, childcare referrals, legal services, grief and eldercare support, and financial planning resources.

If you are passionate about community engagement, fundraising, and making a significant impact in the lives of individuals with developmental challenges, this is the ideal role for you. Join a compassionate and highly trained team committed to empowering individuals and making a tangible difference.
