Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • some work experience preferably in dispatch or routing calls in customer service
  • NAACS, IAMTCS certification or industry accepted equivalent
  • emergency medical dispatch certification
  • EMT-B or paramedic certification
  • proficient in any industry accepted dispatch software
  • strong customer service skills with a high level of professionalism
  • minimum 2 years experience in EMS, 911, aviation dispatch, or 2 years as EMT or paramedic in 911 or hospital setting
  • ability to remain calm during highly stressful situations
  • ability to adapt and respond appropriately to evolving work demands

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Meets customer needs in a prompt, professional, courteous, and respectful manner
  • serves as a resource for program partners
  • uses excellent telephone skills and etiquette
  • has knowledge of applicable FAA regulations
  • relays flight requests rapidly and accurately to appropriate transport resources
  • participates in ongoing staff development
  • promotes a focus on patient and crew safety
  • assesses need for and initiates post-accident incident plans when necessary
  • communicates clearly and concisely on radios using proper FCC-compliant etiquette
  • represents Flight Com to internal and external customers
  • collaborates with operational control, maintenance, aviation, and program staff for safe and efficient dispatch
  • adheres to Flight Com policies and procedures
  • ensures data integrity through accurate data entry
  • maintains knowledge of disaster response processes and participates in evacuation exercises
