The Communications, Engagement & Community Relations Coordinator position at SEVTC is a full-time, salaried role within the Administrative Services and Public Relations departments. With a hiring salary range between $53,380 and $68,500, commensurate with experience, this role plays a crucial part in advancing the facility’s mission through effective communication strategies and community partnership initiatives. The coordinator is tasked with administering the Volunteer Services Program, supporting fundraising and donor engagement efforts, and organizing employee engagement activities to strengthen community ties and internal collaboration. They will develop internal communications, maintain digital and physical communication platforms, and work closely with the DBHDS Office of Communications to ensure alignment with agency branding and social media standards under the One DBHDS initiative.

This essential personnel role demands flexibility during emergencies and requires participation in varied shifts or overtime as needed. The coordinator will serve as the facility’s liaison to external communications offices, coordinate community outreach events, and curate promotional materials that engage both internal staff and external stakeholders. By building and nurturing relationships with volunteers, donors, community partners, and staff, the coordinator directly supports SEVTC’s strategic priorities and the enhancement of services offered to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in program coordination communications community outreach volunteer services fundraising or public relations
  • Experience coordinating programs events or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders such as staff volunteers community partners or donors
  • Experience organizing prioritizing and managing multiple projects or program activities simultaneously

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in program coordination communications community outreach volunteer services fundraising or public relations
  • Experience coordinating programs events or initiatives involving multiple stakeholders such as staff volunteers community partners or donors
  • Experience organizing prioritizing and managing multiple projects or program activities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prepare presentations and use audiovisual or multimedia equipment
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with staff volunteers donors and community partners
  • Knowledge of program administration principles including planning implementing and evaluating programs and services
  • Knowledge of communications practices including branding standards social media use and internal communications

Job Duties

  • Administer and coordinate the facility's Volunteer Services Program including volunteer recruitment orientation assignments and recognition activities
  • Support fundraising initiatives and donor engagement efforts including sponsorship coordination and tracking contributions
  • Build relationships with community partners vendors donors and volunteers to strengthen community involvement
  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement and recognition activities including facility-wide events and initiatives
  • Develop and distribute internal communications such as newsletters announcements and visual displays
  • Maintain and update communication boards and digital signage to ensure messaging is accurate and timely
  • Support facility social media and communications initiatives in coordination with the DBHDS Office of Communications
  • Create communications materials such as flyers brochures presentations and digital content
  • Assist with community outreach and partnership events that promote engagement with SEVTC
  • Track and summarize volunteer participation donations and engagement activities to support reporting and program improvement
  • Collaborate with leadership and departments across the facility to strengthen communication and engagement initiatives
