This role, Communications & Admin Specialist, is integral to Lifeway's Corporate Communications team, emphasizing support for high-visibility communications, executive administration, donation stewardship, and event logistics. As a hybrid remote/in-office position located in the greater Nashville area, this role offers flexibility with a work-from-anywhere culture that values autonomy and relationship-building. The Communications & Admin Specialist will collaborate closely with leaders, trustees, and ministry partners to ensure smooth and effective communication processes within Lifeway. The position requires an individual who combines strong written communication skills with meticulous operational follow-through and warm, professional stakeholder service. Candidates will be responsible for drafting, editing, and proofreading various communication materials such as newsletters, reports, emails, and presentations, while maintaining high standards of accuracy and style compliance.
In addition to communications duties, this specialist provides crucial administrative support to senior members of the Corporate Communications team, including calendar management, expense reporting, and materials preparation. The role also involves coordinating donations, managing budgets, and overseeing recordkeeping processes that span multiple divisions within the organization. Event planning is another core responsibility, as the specialist assists with important gatherings like trustee meetings and Lifeway corporate events through site selection, vendor coordination, audiovisual logistics, hospitality, and on-site management.
This position requires a candidate who can effectively juggle multiple tasks while maintaining excellent organizational skills. The Communications & Admin Specialist will support community engagement initiatives, helping to build and maintain relationships with civic groups and Southern Baptist Convention entities. The role also involves generating reports and analyses that assist communication strategies and leadership decisions. A creative dimension is present, with expectations to perform basic graphic design work using tools such as Canva and Adobe products to enhance communication materials.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in public relations communications marketing business administration or a related field required
- 3-5 years of experience including communications event planning and administrative support
- Strong writing editing and proofreading experience with AP or Chicago style
- Experience coordinating logistics budgets vendors records and service-oriented processes
- Administrative support experience including expense reports scheduling invoicing and contracts
- Project management ability with success managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Must live in the Nashville metropolitan area and be able to come to the office periodically
- Actively involved in a Southern Baptist church

Job Duties
- Live out Lifeway’s mission and values showing deep commitment to Kingdom work
- Assist in drafting editing and proofreading communications such as emails newsletters announcements reports presentations and articles
- Provide administrative support for the director of Corporate Communications executive director of Lifeway Research and the broader Corporate Communications team including calendars expense reports meeting materials and records management
- Manage donation requests fulfillment coordination budget tracking and related recordkeeping across divisions
- Assist with planning and execution for events such as trustee meetings corporate Lifeway events and other special events including site selection vendors AV hospitality and on-site logistics
- Support community engagement efforts and help maintain relationships with civic groups and SBC entities
- Run reports and analysis projects as directed to support communications and leadership decision-making
- Perform basic graphic design work using Canva Adobe products or similar tools to support communication needs
- Maintain organized templates media assets and operational resources that improve consistency and service delivery across the team
- Serve internal and external stakeholders with professionalism discretion responsiveness and strong follow-through
