Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Current EMT certification or obtain within one year of hire
- Obtain Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification or equivalent within one year of hire
- Ability to make rapid, appropriate safety decisions
- Ability to work 40 hours per week
- Ability to work varied schedules
- Physical ability to sit for long periods
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Light lifting capability
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- EMT certification or obtain within one year of hire
- Prefer EMT-P certification
- Certified Flight Communicator (CFC) certification or equivalent within one year of hire
- Two years of EMS/fire/law enforcement/critical care dispatching experience preferred
- One year of flight coordination experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to function in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of aircraft and vehicle operations
Job Duties
- Operate radios, computer systems, and other MedCenter Air equipment
- Maintain knowledge of aircraft and vehicle range, capabilities, and limitations
- Assign appropriate transport mode and vehicle to each request
- Coordinate all aspects of air and ground missions ensuring timely and safe execution
- Monitor location of all transport units during missions
- Collect and maintain accurate pre and post-transport patient documentation and records
- Confirm prescheduled transports on the day of transport
- Manage and use supplies and equipment cost-effectively
- Submit department changes and credits promptly
- Make rapid and appropriate decisions to ensure safety of flight crew and patient
