The company operates in a high-intensity, high-transaction logistics environment, servicing food-away-from-home customers across Texas and New Mexico. With five distribution centers and a product portfolio of approximately 14,000 items, Labatt Food Service is dedicated to ensuring efficient, timely, and safe delivery of goods to its broad customer base. The company prides itself on maintaining a fleet of modern, technologically advanced trucks equipped with cutting-edge safety features such as adaptive braking, collision mitigation, lane departure warnings, and tire pressure monitoring systems. All trucks come with automatic transmissions to provide a smooth and safe ride for their drivers every day.
The role of Commissioned Driver Helper at Labatt Food Service is an excellent entry point for those seeking to start a career in logistics and transportation without prior experience. This position offers a unique opportunity to work hands-on in the delivery process by assisting drivers with the manual handling and delivery of up to 1,400 cases per day. The company supports its helpers with paid training designed to prepare them to eventually obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and grow into route driver roles. This pathway offers significant career progression prospects. Additionally, this job offers a stable Monday through Friday schedule with early dispatch times, competitive average weekly pay between $700 and $840, and the chance to earn a driver referral bonus of up to $1,500.
Labatt Food Service values safety, career growth, and work-life balance, which is evident in their offerings of comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid holidays, sick days, and vacation, as well as 401(k) employer contributions. Employees benefit from a work environment that promotes stability, having never experienced layoffs, and provides opportunities for advancement within the company. Social events like quarterly barbecues and yearly family gatherings help foster a community atmosphere. This role is ideal for individuals looking for long-term, full-time employment with benefits and a clear path toward becoming a licensed commercial driver.
