Job Description

Gold Star GSR Brands is a well-established food company renowned for its Cincinnati-style chili and a commitment to quality and community. With over 60 years of history, Gold Star represents more than just a brand; it embodies a culture built on core values such as Trust, Respect, Integrity, and Passion. These principles guide every aspect of the company’s operations, from customer service to employee relations, creating a supportive and thriving workplace environment. As a leader in the food production industry, Gold Star prides itself on creating meaningful experiences for its customers through exceptional food products and a dedicated workforce. Their commissary team plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards that their guests have come to expect. This team ensures that all food products are prepared, cooked, and packaged consistently and safely in alignment with Gold Star's values.

The role of Production Team Member within Gold Star’s Commissary is pivotal to the company's continued success. This position is responsible for a variety of hands-on duties including assembling, operating, disassembling, cleaning, and inspecting food processing equipment. The Production Team Member follows standardized procedures to ensure food products meet quality and safety standards. Duties also include accurately weighing ingredients using batch formulas, packaging finished goods, and preparing materials for production runs. The position requires attention to detail, a commitment to food and employee safety, and the ability to work well within a team-oriented environment that aligns with Gold Star’s values of Trust, Respect, Integrity, and Passion.

In this role, employees can expect a physically active work environment that requires standing for long periods, lifting 40-60 pounds repetitively, and the ability to work in various temperature settings ranging from coolers at approximately 40 degrees Fahrenheit to heat and humidity levels up to 120 degrees during summer months. The job also involves exposure to water, cleaning chemicals, raw meat, and loud noise, necessitating the consistent use of personal protective equipment. The equipment used daily includes scales, grinders, kettles, mixers, pumps, conveyors, packaging machines such as VFFS systems, chillers, tow motors, thermometers, box tapers, hand tools, and sanitation equipment.

This Production Team Member role offers a structured schedule from 6:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Thursday, averaging 40 hours per week. Compensation is competitive at $18 per hour, along with benefits that support employee well-being. Working at Gold Star means joining a company that not only delivers great food but also fosters a culture of teamwork, respect, and professional growth. Employees are valued contributors to a company that prioritizes doing things the right way, continually aiming to bring passion and excellence to all aspects of their operation.
