Job Description
This job opportunity is offered by a well-established commercial mechanical contracting company located in the Houston metro area, specifically in Porter, TX. With a solid reputation in the commercial HVAC industry, this company specializes in servicing a wide range of commercial HVAC equipment including rooftop units (RTUs), split systems, packaged units, chillers, and centrifugal equipment. Known for its dedication to quality service and employee development, the company provides a dynamic work environment that values experience and growth. Their service portfolio spans multiple commercial segments such as commercial buildings and light industrial facilities, showcasing the diversity and depth of their operations.
The role available is for experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technicians who will be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a full spectrum of commercial HVAC equipment. This position caters to technicians proficient in RTUs who wish to expand their skills into more complex chiller systems, including water-cooled, air-cooled, and centrifugal chillers. The employer emphasizes a supportive training environment for technicians who have a strong foundation in commercial HVAC but are newer to chiller service. Pay is highly competitive, ranging from $28 to $50+ per hour depending on experience and technical expertise, especially for those with specialized chiller and centrifugal experience who will command the top end of this scale.
Employment is full-time, Monday through Friday, with opportunities for overtime for those who want to work additional hours. The work environment is hands-on and requires technicians to be capable of solo work on service calls, including the ability to read equipment schematics and diagnose complex commercial HVAC problems confidently. The role involves direct communication with property managers and building engineers and handling warranty issues, callbacks, and emergency service as needed.
Beyond the physical and technical demands, the company offers an attractive benefits package that includes major medical options, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401k plan with company matching. Technicians receive up to 21 days of paid time off depending on tenure, supplemented by eight paid holidays annually. Additional perks include a company truck, gas card, toll tag, phone or phone allowance, and annual tool and boot allowances, all aimed at supporting the technician's efficiency and comfort in the field.
Overall, this position is ideal for seasoned commercial HVAC professionals who desire a predictable schedule, steady work, and compensation that reflects their skills and contributions. It is especially suited for those looking to deepen their HVAC expertise, with full support for chiller training, or those who already have the experience and want to maximize their earning potential. The company's commitment to employee development and comprehensive benefits makes it a highly attractive employer in the Houston metropolitan area commercial HVAC service market.
