Cafe Valley has been a distinguished name in the bakery industry since 1987, dedicated to crafting high-quality baked goods that bring smiles to faces one cupcake, muffin, cake, and croissant at a time. Known for their commitment to both tradition and innovation, Cafe Valley blends care and craftsmanship with state-of-the-art production techniques. With over 1,700 passionate team members operating out of their advanced production facilities located in Phoenix, Arizona, and Marion, Indiana, the company prides itself on fostering a culture where quality, safety, and teamwork thrive equally. The organization's success is deeply rooted in its people, who are regarded as the special ingredient essential to producing premium baked products. Cafe Valley emphasizes a positive, team-oriented environment where collaboration, innovation, and respect are fundamental, ensuring that every team member feels valued and motivated to contribute their best work every day.
The role of a Baker at Cafe Valley is a vital and dynamic position that demands both creativity and technical expertise. As a Baker at the Phoenix, AZ plant, you will be responsible for the development and refinement of innovative bakery products, leveraging your expertise in batter and laminate dough product innovation. This role is tailored for someone who enjoys hands-on work, with a significant portion of the job involving bench-level baking. You will play a crucial part in driving projects from the prototype stage through to full commercialization, ensuring that each product meets Cafe Valley's stringent standards for taste, quality, and cost efficiency. Your ability to innovate, along with your aptitude for managing multiple product development projects in a manufacturing environment, will be critical for success. You will collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to conduct plant trials, troubleshoot any arising issues, and oversee the smooth transition of products into full-scale production.
Key responsibilities include preparing and maintaining thorough product documentation such as vendor briefs, plant trial summaries, ingredient lists, Bills of Materials, and finished product specifications, all while ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards. You will also drive research initiatives for new ingredients and suppliers, conducting ingredient evaluations and quality assessments to maintain high standards. Effective communication skills are essential as the role requires coordination with various departments including Sales, Quality Assurance, and Purchasing to align efforts and support new product rollouts. Cafe Valley is proud to offer competitive base salaries along with bonus incentives, comprehensive benefits packages including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and ancillary programs, paid time off, relocation assistance, and the experience of being part of a dedicated team focused on a common mission of baking excellence and innovation.
