The role of Combo's / Bussers / Dish Machine Operators (DMO) at IHOP is crucial in maintaining the smooth operation of the restaurant. Defined duties include following dish machine and sink procedures according to IHOP’s standard operating procedures to maintain food safety standards, completing food safety evaluations (FSE), supporting operational excellence tasks, and assisting with health department inspections. Furthermore, DMOs help foster a positive guest experience by handling guest relations concerning cleanliness and service quality.
In addition to dishwashing, employees in this position assist in unloading, unboxing, rotating, and properly storing food, equipment, and supplies. Maintaining stock levels and managing the dining area, including cleaning and resetting tables and chairs, are also part of the responsibilities. This position plays an important role in complying with all required local, state, and company health, sanitation, and safety regulations. Regular restroom checks and trash disposal are expected to ensure cleanliness is upheld throughout the restaurant.

Job Requirements
- Preferred minimal work experience as a dishwasher
- Must be proficient in operating with different types of dishes
- Must know and follow all food safety procedures

Job Qualifications
- No prior experience or training required
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Ability to understand oral instructions in English and read English or Spanish
- Ability to communicate with customers
- Ability to read instructions, warning, and safety labels
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure
- Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions

- IHOP training coursework as assigned
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain professional and functional working relationships with IHOP employees and customers
- Pick up, sort, and wash all china, silverware, glassware, pots, pans, utensils
- Follow dish machine and/or sink procedures per IHOP SOP
- Perform Food Safety Evaluations, LTO Training, A/B Status, Operations Excellence, Health Department Inspections per IHOP SOP
- Execute Guest Relations for Normalized Guest Complaints Index
- Unload, unbox, rotate, and store food, equipment, and supplies
- Stock and rotate all needed supplies in service area and dining room
- Comply with all health, sanitation, and safety guidelines
- Dispose of trash properly
- Check restrooms every half hour for stocking levels and cleanliness
- Clean, clear, manicure, re-set tables, clean chairs, booths, and floors
- Perform cleaning duties according to posted cleaning charts
- Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards
- Perform other assignments as directed by management
