Job Description

Gerber Collision & Glass is a leading company in the collision repair industry, proudly serving customers for over 80 years. Renowned for its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, the company exemplifies excellence in collision and glass services. Gerber Collision & Glass operates with a strong dedication to building intentional, high-performing teams that empower employees to excel and deliver outstanding service. The company's culture is built on integrity, diversity, and inclusion, welcoming unique talents from all backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities and Protected Veterans. This inclusive environment fosters collaboration and innovation, driving continuous growth and leadership in the industry.

The role of Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is integral to enhancing the overall customer experience by ensuring vehicles are impeccably cleaned before delivery and maintaining a clean, organized working environment. This position is suited for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards across all touchpoints within the shop and office facilities. As part of this role, employees contribute directly to the WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan which aims at consistently exceeding customer expectations.

Porters have a range of responsibilities including daily housekeeping duties indoors and outdoors, such as cleaning floors, emptying garbage, dusting, and managing waste disposal. They also maintain the neatness of parking lots and grounds, including seasonal duties like shoveling sidewalks. Additionally, Porters are responsible for pre-washing customer vehicles before repairs begin, performing both interior and exterior cleaning once repairs are complete, and transporting vehicles to sublet locations as needed.

This position requires an ability to multitask effectively and a strong attention to detail to ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard. While automotive experience is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this a great opportunity for candidates who wish to start or develop their career in the automotive repair industry. The job demands physical stamina and mobility, including the ability to push, pull, lift up to 50 pounds, and withstand exposure to moving mechanical parts.

Gerber Collision & Glass offers competitive hourly pay ranging from $14 to $17 and provides comprehensive benefits from day one of employment. These benefits include medical, dental, vision, prescription drug coverage, paid time off, paid parental leave, holidays, retirement plans with company matching, and various other perks designed to support employee well-being and professional growth. The company emphasizes real people making real hiring decisions, ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process without the use of AI or automated screening tools.

Joining Gerber Collision & Glass means becoming part of a dynamic team committed to excellence, continuous learning, and career advancement. The company values reliability, positive attitudes, and a willingness to learn as key attributes for success in the Porter position. For candidates seeking a stable workplace with growth potential and a supportive culture, Gerber Collision & Glass provides an ideal environment to build a rewarding career.
