The Porter role at Gerber Collision & Glass in Dallas, TX, is a vital position within the company's operations. This role entails ensuring that customer vehicles are cleaned thoroughly before delivery, maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the shop and office facilities, and supporting the overall production process by handling tasks such as moving customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs. The Porter is essential in upholding the high standards of customer service that the company is known for, ensuring that every vehicle leaving the facility meets the quality and presentation expectations of Gerber Collision & Glass. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with automotive experience or a passion for the automotive industry to begin or grow their careers in a reputable company. Compensation for this position ranges from $15.00 to $19.00 per hour, depending on location, skill, education, and experience, and is offered on an hourly basis.

As a Porter, employees must be capable of multitasking and possess a keen attention to detail. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the daily upkeep of the interior and exterior of the facility, vehicle pre-washing, and post-repair cleaning. The role requires physical activity such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing for extended periods, and occasionally stooping or kneeling. A valid driver's license and the ability to operate motor vehicles safely are essential to fulfill the transport duties. Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW plan
  • maintain daily housekeeping of office interior including emptying garbage cans, cleaning floors, dusting countertops and work areas
  • maintain daily housekeeping of production area including emptying waste cans, sweeping floors, disposing of unwanted vehicle parts, and proper placement of tools and equipment
  • maintain parking lots and grounds in neat and orderly condition including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs
  • perform exterior and interior cleanup of customer vehicles after repairs
  • transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
