The role of the Porter at Gerber Collision & Glass is a vital part of ensuring that the customer experience is outstanding from start to finish. The Porter supports the repair process by maintaining the cleanliness and presentation of customer vehicles and the facilities. This position requires an individual who can multitask effectively, demonstrate a strong attention to detail, and maintain a positive, reliable attitude. The Porter is responsible for pre-washing vehicles before repairs, cleaning up vehicles after repairs, ensuring the shop and office areas are orderly, and even transporting vehicles between locations when needed. The position offers competitive pay ranging from $16.00 to $18.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED preferred
  • Ability to multitask
  • Automotive experience preferred
  • Clear close vision required
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to pull/push and carry
  • Ability to walk, sit, and stand for 5+ hours
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl for 1+ hour
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work near moving mechanical parts

Job Duties

  • Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the office interior including emptying garbage, cleaning floors, and dusting countertops
  • Maintain daily housekeeping of the production area including disposing of waste, sweeping floors, and organizing tools
  • Maintain parking lots and grounds in a neat and orderly fashion including shoveling sidewalks when necessary
  • Pre-wash customer vehicles prior to repairs beginning
  • Clean customer vehicles inside and out after repairs are complete
  • Transport customer vehicles to sublet locations for repairs
