We operate primarily within the Kern County, CA area, delivering high-quality service in managing produce storage with an emphasis on safety, efficiency, and maintaining the integrity of the cold chain. With a strong foundation built on years of experience in the produce industry, we take pride in fostering a professional and respectful work environment that values each team member as a vital part of our success. We offer competitive compensation packages including comprehensive medical benefits, a 401(k) program, paid vacation, and a company vehicle for professional use, ensuring that our employees have the tools and support needed to thrive.
The role of Cold Storage Manager is a pivotal supervisory position within our facility operations. As the Cold Storage Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the receiving, cooling, and shipping functions, ensuring a smooth and efficient operational flow. This role demands a leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has a keen eye for detail, and takes pride in an impeccably organized cold room. You will act as the bridge between logistics, maintenance, and safety, ensuring that all aspects of the facility are coordinated seamlessly. Your responsibilities will include maximizing product arrangement and space utilization within both dry and cold storage rooms, coordinating with the maintenance department to ensure the facility remains pristine and well-maintained, and strictly monitoring compliance with food safety regulations. A key part of your role will be to foster a professional culture where drivers and customers are treated with respect, and team members are motivated, uniformed, and communicating effectively.
This position requires a balance between safety-first mindset and urgency, particularly in managing shipping docks and coordinating logistics to minimize wait times. Candidates who bring hands-on experience with produce, especially table grapes, and possess CalARP management expertise will excel in this role. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background including computer literacy, refrigeration troubleshooting skills, electrical knowledge, and familiarity with ammonia refrigeration systems. Excellent communication skills, a professional demeanor, and a proven ability to lead and motivate large teams across multiple departments such as receiving, warehousing, sanitation, and shipping are essential.
Joining our team means becoming part of a legacy that values its people and excellence in operations. If you are looking to lead in a challenging, rewarding environment with opportunities to grow and develop your career, this cold storage managerial position located in Kern County offers the perfect platform. With our comprehensive benefits and commitment to employee success, we support your professional journey while expecting you to bring your best leadership and expertise to maintain our high standards of service and safety.
