Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Barista in specialty coffee or 2 years in non-specialty coffee
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40lbs
- Experience with POS systems
- Strong communication skills
- Detail-oriented and well organized
Job Qualifications
- Passion for customer service
- Minimum 1 year experience as a Barista in specialty coffee or minimum 2 years in non-specialty coffee in a high-volume fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under pressure and maintain organization and attention to detail
- Experience using a Point of Sale (POS) system
- Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds
Job Duties
- Follow Bluestone Lane recipes and presentation standards in a timely manner
- Manage coffee shop equipment and tool cleaning and maintenance including daily cleaning and periodic maintenance
- Follow Bluestone Lane operating procedures and processes including completing transactions accurately and adhering to safety and security measures
- Dial machine in and maintain consistent espresso extraction per Bluestone Lane brew ratios
- Educate customers on menu options, upsell products, and facilitate fast and efficient service
- Train, educate and acclimate new baristas to store systems and culture
- Maintain cleanliness of bar and workspace and adhere to opening and closing procedures
- Foster team collaboration and uphold Bluestone Lane’s hospitality standards
- Manage coffee product rotation and inventory to minimize waste and maintain freshness
- Communicate in a friendly and enthusiastic manner with customers and deliver drinks personally where possible
