As a Coffee Shop Barista at Hy-Vee, you will work closely with the Coffee Shop Department Manager and other store leadership to ensure smooth operations throughout the day. Your duties will include greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, preparing and replenishing food and beverage items, handling food safely, and operating the register when needed. Your role directly impacts customer satisfaction and the department's efficiency. You will be expected to anticipate supply needs, ensure product freshness, and maintain compliance with hygiene and safety standards. Job Requirements

Must be able to physically perform medium work involving exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pounds of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Must have clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet with or without correction
Must have color vision, depth perception and field of vision
Must be able to perform physical activities including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
Must be able to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or verbal instructions
Must do simple addition and subtraction
Must understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions
Must write identifying information
Must request supplies orally or in writing

Job Qualifications

Less than high school or equivalent experience
Six months or less of similar or related work experience

Job Duties

Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
Makes an effort to learn customers' names and to address them by name whenever possible
Assists customers by escorting them to the products they're looking for, securing products that are out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of and passing along customer suggestions or requests, performing other tasks in every way possible to enhance the shopping experience
Answers the telephone promptly when called upon, and provides friendly, helpful service to customers who call including taking customer orders
Takes customer orders at the counter
Works with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment
Handles food in a safe manner and ensures the work area is always clean and neat
