The available position at Omni Nashville Hotel is for a bar service professional whose core responsibility will be to ensure efficient, friendly customer service in a clean, professional environment. This role demands attentiveness to guests’ needs, from setting up and maintaining the service bar area, accurately handling orders via a point-of-sale system, to delivering food and drink orders promptly. The candidate will play a key role in enhancing the guest experience by following established service guidelines and promoting a welcoming and swift service bar atmosphere. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for adherence to hotel policies relating to safety, cash handling, and customer interactions, including ensuring guests are not over-served alcoholic beverages. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in customer service or hospitality recommended
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have valid TABC permit or be able to obtain upon hire
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand and be active for long periods
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and hotel policies
Job Qualifications
- Previous serving experience preferred
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Strong communication skills required
- Familiarity with service bar and bar atmosphere
- Must have an unexpired TABC permit or ability to obtain one upon hire
- Comfortable working in a fast paced luxury hotel lobby bar environment
- Maintain a professional business appearance, attitude, and performance
Job Duties
- Properly set-up and maintain a clean efficient service area of the bar throughout the shift
- Perform guest services by using the Moments of Service guidelines
- Ring orders into Micros system and deliver orders to the table
- Deliver food orders from kitchen to bar area and return dishes to kitchen
- Continually check back with guests
- Keep all supplies stocked
- Clean, clear and reset service areas
- Protect the hotel from liability related to overserving guests
- Complete all duties assigned by manager
- Assist bartender when needed
- Ensure tables are set up properly
- Aid guests in locating other hotel areas
- Attend all designated staff meetings and training sessions
- Be familiar with food and drink menus
- Adhere to cash handling standards
- Follow all company policies and procedures including professional appearance and confidentiality
- Follow all safety and security policies and report accidents or unsafe conditions
