Hotel Mockingbird is a vibrant hospitality establishment located in the charming Park Cities neighborhood of Dallas. Known for blending timeless character with a fresh and spirited approach to hospitality, Hotel Mockingbird offers guests a unique and memorable experience. The hotel is recognized for its thoughtfully layered design, lively social energy, and dynamic dining and bar scenes that contribute to a warm and inviting atmosphere. Guests can indulge in chef-driven menus and enjoy lively bar spaces that make dining and socializing truly enjoyable. At the heart of Hotel Mockingbird are the Curators, a dedicated team committed to creating personalized moments and unforgettable stays for every guest. The hotel's food and beverage department strives for excellence by delivering outstanding service and high-quality offerings that reflect the hotel’s commitment to hospitality and community engagement.
The Cocktail Server position at Hotel Mockingbird is a key role within the food and beverage team, reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager. This is a non-exempt role designed for individuals who are passionate about delivering attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging beverage service to guests in both the lounge and dining areas. The Cocktail Server is responsible for ensuring an elevated guest experience through exceptional service, meticulous attention to detail, and an in-depth understanding of craft cocktails, wine, and spirits. The role involves interacting with guests to offer expert recommendations, efficiently handling orders, and maintaining an organized and clean work environment.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a vibrant team in a sophisticated setting, ideal for candidates who enjoy high-energy environments and possess strong interpersonal skills. Success in this role requires the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining composure during busy periods. The Cocktail Server will operate the point-of-sale system securely, manage cash and credit transactions responsibly, and adhere strictly to all state and company alcohol service policies. Team collaboration is essential, as the Cocktail Server works closely with bartenders, food runners, and management to ensure guest satisfaction and smooth operations. The role also involves performing assigned side tasks, maintaining table and lounge cleanliness, and assisting teammates to uphold the high service standards of Hotel Mockingbird.
Candidates who thrive in hospitality settings and have previous cocktail serving or bartending experience, particularly in hotels or upscale lounges, will find this role both rewarding and challenging. The position demands physical stamina, as servers will frequently stand, walk, bend, and lift items up to 25 pounds throughout their shifts. Flexibility is crucial, as the role requires availability during nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the demands of the hotel's dynamic service environment. Hotel Mockingbird values enthusiasm, professionalism, and a guest-focused mindset, offering team members a supportive workplace where they can grow and contribute to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
