Job Description
The hiring establishment is a reputable casino that prides itself on delivering exceptional entertainment and hospitality to its diverse clientele. This vibrant and dynamic environment combines gaming excitement with premium dining and beverage options, making it a premier destination for visitors seeking both fun and comfort. The casino's Food & Beverage Department plays a critical role in enhancing the guest experience by providing high-quality food and beverage service with a focus on professionalism and customer satisfaction. Employees are expected to maintain a high standard of conduct and service to help sustain the casino's esteemed reputation in a competitive market.
The open position is for a Cocktail Server within the Food & Beverage Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that all casino guests receive prompt, courteous, and professional beverage service. Working under the supervision of the Shift Manager Beverage, the Cocktail Server is responsible for delivering both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to patrons throughout the casino floor. This position requires an individual who is knowledgeable about beverage preparation, presentation, and safety protocols related to alcohol service, including verifying legal age requirements and monitoring guest consumption in compliance with established alcohol awareness guidelines.
As a Cocktail Server, one must exhibit expert selling techniques, maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned areas, and handle customer needs with friendliness and efficiency. The server's duties extend to assisting guests regardless of their seating location, promptly addressing complaints with professionalism, and maintaining constant communication with team members across shifts to ensure seamless service delivery. Side duties include stocking essential items such as glasses, cream, sugar, and beverage napkins, which contribute to overall service efficiency.
The position offers a starting pay rate of $13.10 with an opportunity to earn $14.55 after one year of service, indicating a commitment to rewarding employee dedication and longevity. Employment is classified as non-exempt and non-gaming, emphasizing that the role is service-oriented without direct involvement in gaming operations. The casino supports a safe and inclusive workplace where teamwork, customer focus, and personal responsibility are valued.
In addition to standard beverage service responsibilities, the cocktail server needs to be physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods, handling trays carrying up to 25 pounds, and maintaining a positive demeanor in a fast-paced, often noisy environment. This adds a physical and interactive dimension to the role that requires stamina, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Prospective candidates should anticipate working flexible shifts that include weekends and holidays, reflecting the casino's round-the-clock operational schedule. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about hospitality, skilled in customer service, and motivated to contribute to an exciting and rewarding workplace. The casino is an equal opportunity employer committed to compliance with federal employment laws and encourages applications from candidates who meet the qualifications and requirements detailed below.
