The role available is for an experienced food and beverage server, specifically in a nightlife setting requiring nights and weekends availability. This position demands a candidate who is passionate, motivated, and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit with a resourceful, innovative, and forward-thinking approach. The server will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional dining and entertainment experience by serving food and beverages with a cheerful attitude in a vibrant nightclub environment. Key responsibilities include recognizing VIP and Foundation Room Members, proficiently executing upscale dining service, exhibiting expert bottle and wine service skills, and offering knowledgeable and persuasive food and drink recommendations to guests. The role requires strong communication abilities, professional grooming standards, cash handling expertise, and the capacity to manage intoxicated guests safely and positively.

The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of culinary terms, upscale cuisine, and beverage menus, and be capable of guiding guests through their dining experience using recommendation and expertise. The service standards for bottle service must be flawlessly executed, while maintaining atmosphere control and cleanliness throughout the work area. The role also involves adhering to House of Blues' safety, sanitation, and alcohol service policies, including responsible alcohol service and recognition of valid identification from guests.

Candidates must be flexible with their schedules, able to work late nights and weekends, and handle multiple tables efficiently. Previous experience in upscale dining and nightlife venues is essential, alongside certifications like the TIPS Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training. Physical demands include prolonged standing, working on feet, and the ability to lift or move up to 25 lbs safely. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience in upscale dining and nightlife serving
  • TIPS Responsible Alcohol Awareness Training Certification or equivalent
  • Flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Ability to adhere to dress and appearance guidelines
  • At least 2 years bottle service experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tables efficiently
  • Working knowledge of cocktail tray service, drink recipes and Point of Sales systems
  • Ability to interact positively with intoxicated guests
  • Experience working in live music environments preferred
  • Cash handling experience
  • Experience recognizing valid IDs
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Tolerance of diverse cultures and music
  • Excellent communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Point of Sales knowledge preferred
  • Interest in wines, spirits and mixology preferred

Job Duties

  • Serve food and beverages to guests in a nightclub environment with a cheerful attitude
  • Give proper recognition to Foundation Room Members, Live Nation Corporate Executives and VIP's
  • Demonstrate impeccable knowledge regarding upscale dining service
  • Exhibit expert confidence in bottle and wine service skills
  • Up-sell and offer food and beverage suggestions to guests
  • Guide and direct guests through their dining experience with recommendations
  • Execute the standards and procedures of bottle service flawlessly
  • Maintain professional grooming standards
  • Handle cash and operate Point of Sales system
  • Manage interactions with intoxicated guests in a positive and safety-minded manner
  • Anticipate and respond to guests' needs
  • Suggestively sell beverages and menu items
  • Communicate drink orders to bar through Point of Sales system
  • Deliver drinks while maneuvering trays through large crowds
  • Maintain line of sight and atmosphere control
  • Remove dirty glasses, dishes, ashtrays and keep tables clean
  • Clean spills and remove obstacles from floor using proper techniques
  • Adhere to House of Blues safety and sanitation standards
  • Request identification from guests appearing under 30 years old
  • Ensure responsible alcohol service and refuse service to intoxicated guests courteously
  • Process payments including cash, credit cards and travelers checks
  • Assist other servers and staff as needed
  • Attend pre-shift meetings conducted by Manager on Duty
