Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living is an esteemed continuing care retirement community located on a beautiful 87-acre campus in Parkville, Maryland. As part of Erickson Senior Living, one of the nation's largest and most respected providers of senior living and healthcare services, Oak Crest Village is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for its residents by offering vibrant lifestyles, financial stability, and comprehensive health and well-being support. Erickson Senior Living is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive community that values diversity, equity, and belonging. Their mission is to help people live better lives through exceptional care and innovative community offerings.
Joining Oak Crest Village means becoming part of a nationally recognized network that supports both residents and employees with a culture of respect and opportunity for growth. Employees benefit from flexible schedules that promote work-life balance, opportunities for professional development, and a welcoming work environment committed to equality and fairness for all. As an employer, Erickson Senior Living and its communities are Equal Opportunity Employers, dedicated to creating a workplace free from discrimination and harassment based on various protected categories.
The position available at Oak Crest Village is an entry-level role designed as a launching pad for individuals ready to dip their toes into the food and beverage industry within a senior living community. This role offers the advantage of flexible afternoon, weekend, and holiday hours with no late shifts, making it ideal for students or those starting their careers. The hourly pay rate is $18.25, providing competitive compensation for part-time work along with valuable hands-on experience. The role also comes with attractive benefits including free meals during shifts for dining students, scholarship opportunities for qualifying team members to support college or trade school expenses, paid time off as per state law, and access to onsite medical centers offering wellness and sick care.
In this role, you will develop a strong understanding of the menu items, daily specials, and preparation methods to become a subject matter expert. You will be responsible for accurately recording food and beverage orders, engaging with residents and guests by sharing menu highlights, and consistently delivering exceptional dining experiences tailored to customer preferences. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work weekends and holidays are important for success in this role. The position requires candidates to meet the state's minimum age requirements for serving alcohol and to be at least 18 years old.
Oak Crest Village is not only an excellent place to begin a rewarding career in hospitality but also a supportive community where employees are valued and provided with the resources to succeed and grow with the company. The role offers a chance to gain substantial experience in customer service, build interpersonal skills, and contribute meaningfully to the well-being and enjoyment of senior residents. If you are eager to develop your skills in a dynamic and caring environment, Oak Crest Village by Erickson Senior Living offers the perfect opportunity to achieve your career goals while making a positive impact on the lives of others.
