Job Description
San Manuel Casino is a prominent gaming and entertainment venue located in the Inland Empire, renowned for its comprehensive casino experiences, premium dining, and vibrant entertainment events. As one of the largest private employers in the region, San Manuel is committed to fostering a positive workplace environment that supports the future growth and well-being of its employees. The casino operates as a dynamic, fast-paced resort environment that offers a wide range of gaming options, including slots and table games, alongside numerous amenities tailored for guest satisfaction. Employees at San Manuel benefit from being part of a well-established and respected organization dedicated to delivering exceptional service and entertainment to its guests.
The role of the Cocktail Server at San Manuel Casino is integral to providing an exceptional guest experience. Under the direction of the Supervisor Beverage, the Cocktail Server is responsible for delivering timely, accurate, and responsible cocktail service alongside complimentary soft drink service to all guests. This role requires adherence to the Yaamava Brand Standards and involves beverage service during regular floor operations as well as special events. The server operates primarily in casino areas such as slot and table game locations. Key responsibilities include taking guest orders, processing payments, ensuring proper beverage presentation, and maintaining exemplary customer service. The Cocktail Server acts swiftly to deliver beverages prepared either by the bartender or themselves while maintaining a clean and organized workstation.
Moreover, the Cocktail Server regularly performs section check-ins, picking up trash and empty glasses and ashtrays, and proactively offers continued service to guests throughout their shift. The role demands a high level of alcohol expertise, including knowledge of spirits, beers, wines, and cocktails, correct garnish use, and up-to-date pricing. The position also involves handling cash transactions accurately in a "cash and carry" system. Daily side work and additional duties assigned by management must be carried out efficiently to support the department's operation.
This position is tailored for candidates who thrive in high-pressure, fast-paced environments, can communicate clearly with guests and team members and maintain composure during busy periods. The Cocktail Server must be at least 21 years old and possess a high school diploma or GED with at least six months of relevant experience or training. Licenses such as a Food Handler's card and Responsible Beverage Service certification are required, and at the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, a gaming license might be necessary.
The physical demands include working in a climate-controlled casino resort setting, with the need to lift and carry items up to 40 pounds occasionally while performing various physical movements such as balancing, stooping, and reaching. Work shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. San Manuel takes pride in its supportive employment culture, offering reasonable accommodations to comply with applicable laws. By joining San Manuel, employees become part of a respected tradition of hospitality excellence and community-focused employment in a world-class casino environment.
