Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to local state laws
- Ability to stand for the entire shift
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks
- Flexibility to work long hours
- Physical ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally
- Willingness to follow cash handling procedures
- Must maintain regular attendance according to scheduling needs
- Must maintain personal grooming standards
- Must comply with company policies
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent or experience in hotel or related field preferred
- Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages according to local state laws
- Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests
- Ability to listen, understand and clarify concerns
- Capable of multitasking and prioritizing departmental functions
- Attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented approach
- Ability to stand during entire shift
- Attend all required meetings and trainings
- Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
- Compliance with company standards and regulations
- Ability to handle problems proactively
- Ability to understand and apply complex information
- Willingness to cross-train in other hotel areas
- Maintain confidentiality
- Show initiative by anticipating guest or operational needs
- Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
Job Duties
- Be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and employees
- Complete opening and closing checklist according to standards
- Welcome guests, take drink orders, relay orders to bartenders, process and deliver orders, and receive payment
- Have knowledge of garnishes for each drink
- Process credit card and room charges
- Clear and clean tables and return glasses to be washed
- Keep lounge area clean and free from debris at all times
- Follow cash handling policies and prepare closing report for night audit
- Perform all side work duties on schedule
- Have full knowledge of state liquor laws
- Be familiar with the computer system
- Assist bartender in preparing drinks when needed
- Help set up and break down hors d'oeuvres tables during cocktail hours
- Ensure overall guest satisfaction
- Assume other duties as assigned
