The role of Cocktail Server at Bowie House is integral to delivering the luxury hospitality experience the hotel is known for. As a Cocktail Server, you will serve food and beverage orders to guests with efficiency and courtesy, adhering strictly to hotel specifications to ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role demands a complete knowledge of all menu items, including prices, preparation methods, timing, ingredients, and quality standards related to taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and presentation. Maintaining professionalism and hospitality in line with state liquor regulations is a key responsibility, including strict compliance with laws protecting minors and preventing service to intoxicated individuals. Successful Cocktail Servers anticipate and respond promptly to guests’ needs, maintain positive interactions regardless of the activity level or time of day, and handle guest complaints effectively while ensuring satisfaction. This position requires a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays to accommodate department needs, as well as a high level of professionalism and the physical ability to maneuver efficiently in a busy restaurant setting. The ideal candidate would bring prior experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry, preferably with bartender experience and knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine, particularly within luxury hospitality settings. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and able to communicate effectively in English with guests and colleagues. Certifications such as food handlers and alcohol training may be required, and physical capability to lift up to 30 lbs is essential. Job Requirements
- Must be of minimum 18 years of age
- ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
- ability to obtain relevant state and local government certifications such as food handlers certificate or alcohol training certifications
- ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- ability to maneuver in a restaurant setting
Job Qualifications
- One year experience in the foodservice/hospitality industry as a bartender preferred
- good knowledge of spirits, beer, and wine
- experience at a luxury hospitality property preferred
- must be of minimum 18 years of age
- superior professional appearance and manner
- good character to work in a fast-paced team
- ability to communicate satisfactorily in English with guests, management, and co-workers
Job Duties
