Job Requirements

  • One year of cocktail or food service experience
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • Understanding of hotel service standards and guest relations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to obtain California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification and Food Handlers Card if not already possessed
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies
  • Availability to report to work on time regularly
  • Physical ability to wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes and perform shift duties

Job Qualifications

  • One year cocktail or food service experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations, and etiquette
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Help guests select beverages by offering cocktails and aperitifs, describing wine, beers and spirits served and making recommendations
  • Provide bar food menu and answer food preparation questions
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a timely manner, based on service expectations
  • Upsell food and beverage items to maximize profitability
  • Collect and input orders into POS system accurately and in timely manner
  • Handle cash, charge, room and credit card transactions accurately according to company policies
  • Maintain cleanliness of the assigned service/bar area by disposing of waste, clearing tables, and wiping down surfaces
  • Follow all standard food handling, sanitation, TIPS and health department guidelines
  • Report to work as scheduled on time and regularly
  • Wear non-slip, oil-resistant shoes and follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Complete pre, running, and post shift side-work requirements
  • Ensure minors and intoxicated persons are not served alcoholic beverages and notify management of any related problems
  • Provide guests with a high-level dining experience while maintaining professional distance
  • Notify management of unsafe conditions, needed maintenance, and any accidents
  • Resolve guest complaints within scope of authority and notify supervisor or security of unusual events or theft
