Job Requirements

  • Must be at least the legal age to serve alcohol
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a fast-paced food and beverage environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to handle, carry or lift items up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand and move efficiently throughout the shift
  • Capacity to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as needed
  • Certification in alcohol awareness or valid food handler card
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of serving experience in a fast paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English
  • Other languages preferred
  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with guests and staff
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or valid food service permit or health/food handler card as required by local or state government
  • Reading and writing abilities for order and paperwork completion
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and credit
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests
  • Up-sell when taking orders
  • Show energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism
  • Provide outstanding and professional service with a smile
  • Communicate effectively and clearly with co-workers and kitchen staff
  • Communicate with guests clearly, patiently and with good humor
  • Be well-versed in all products and menu items to guide and sell
  • Consistently check guests' identification for age requirements
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when to cease service
  • Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption
  • Complete all assigned side work
  • Accurately account for all sales and payments
  • Alert management of any service or safety issues
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through communication with other departments
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
