Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year serving experience in food and beverage industry
  • Knowledge of alcohol types and service methods
  • Must be at least legal minimum age for alcohol service
  • Fluent in English, additional language skills a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Alcohol awareness and/or food handler certification as mandated
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math
  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
  • Physical stamina to stand and move throughout the facility during shifts
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift as needed

Job Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced food and beverage venue, preferably nightclub environment
  • Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments preferred
  • Must meet state legal age requirements
  • Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred
  • Must be courteous, pleasant, and good natured
  • Strong communication skills for interaction with guests, bartenders, wait staff, cooks, and supervisors
  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency
  • Ability to read and write for taking orders and completing paperwork
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests and take beverage and food orders in a prompt and professional manner
  • Serve cocktails and/or menu items to bar guests
  • Up-sell when taking orders
  • Demonstrate energy, outgoing personality, and professionalism
  • Provide outstanding and professional service with a smile
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers and kitchen staff verbally and using the point of sales system
  • Communicate with guests clearly, patiently, and with good humor
  • Be well-versed in all product offerings and menu items to guide guest experience and sell items
  • Check guests' identification to ensure minimum age requirements for alcohol consumption
  • Monitor guest behavior and alcohol consumption to determine when service should cease
  • Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired guests
  • Complete assigned side work
  • Accurately account for all sales and payments from guests
  • Alert management of service or safety issues and perform appropriate service recovery
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through communication and coordination with other departments
  • Coordinate with bartenders and kitchen for ordering and receipt of food and beverages
