Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience cooking Mexican and Central American cuisine preferred
Ability to follow health and safety regulations
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Physical capability to perform cooking duties and stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

Knowledge of preparation of authentic Mexican and Central American foods
Knowledge of the use of equipment and tools of the trade in the department
Some experience as restaurant cook
Basic understanding of English language
Ability to work safely in a fast-paced environment

Job Duties

Provide outstanding prompt and courteous service
Work as a team member and assist coworkers when needed
Prepare and cook from scratch all menu items including guisados, soups, salsas, mole, rice, beans consistently according to Vallarta Supermarkets standards
Gather, wash, and prepare food ingredients for menu items
Communicate to department management when ingredients or supplies are needed, including inventory levels of prepared food
Transport product to coolers and storage areas
Maintain a clean work area
