Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge
- basic life support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire
- proficiency in all competencies including end of life care, Alzheimer’s, and dementia within six months of hire
- demonstrated ability to float to other areas within six months of hire
- excellent organizational skills
- effective human relations and communication skills
- working knowledge of medical terminology and computer literacy
- ability to work variable shifts, hours, and on-call duties
- willingness to commit to minimum six months at Denali Center following certification

Job Duties
- complete all assigned classroom, coursework, and clinical hours
- provide daily living assistance and complete tasks to promote patient health
- assist patients with basic hygiene, mobility, safe patient handling, oxygen management, and infection control
- provide nutritional support and end of life care
- collect patient specimens and data including vital signs, glucose testing, and input/output measurements
- assist in specimen transportation
- recognize and report patient health abnormalities and changes
- communicate patient status to caregivers
- perform delegated procedures under licensed professional supervision
- provide supplies and support for medical procedures
- maintain a clean, orderly, and well-stocked environment
- incorporate infection control standards
- provide general support including greeting and assisting patients, visitors, and staff
- assist with receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate unit function
