Job Requirements
- H.S. diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- Six months previous healthcare facility clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care
- Six months previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training program
- NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
- Other Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of Medical Assistant education
- BCLS certification maintained every 2 years
- THR Urine Drug Collector training within 30 days of hire
Job Qualifications
- Secondary education such as high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of approved NCT training program
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant education program or vocational nurse program
- Six months previous healthcare clinical experience as LVN, MA, CNA, or patient care
- Previous x-ray experience or completion of internal THR NCT training preferred
- Experience with electronic health records and orthopedic procedures preferred
- NCT registered by Texas Medical Board upon hire
- Licensed Vocational Nurse State of Texas if LVN upon hire
- Other Certified or Registered Medical Assistant in lieu of Medical Assistant education program
- BCLS certification maintained every 2 years
- THR Urine Drug Collector training maintained every 5 years
Job Duties
- Collects identification and payor related documentation, conducts registration using EPIC workflow
- Measures and documents vitals and communicates the data to consumer and provider
- Documents chief complaint, allergies, health history, and current medications accurately in EPIC
- Performs and documents laboratory testing and collections per provider orders
- Administers and documents oral and intramuscular medication using proper verification workflow
- Assists provider with procedures including sterile field maintenance, laceration repair, I&D, ortho-goods application
- Performs diagnostic x-rays and documents completion within licensed scope
- Behaves in professional and empathetic manner to build trust and comfort
- Welcomes consumer and secondary guests with greeting and inquiry
- Recognizes and notifies provider of emergent patients and assists with emergency care
- Schedules primary care referrals for consumers
- Maintains office, medical supplies, and medications at appropriate par levels
- Performs quality checks per established policies
- Other duties as assigned
