Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year direct customer service experience
- proficiency with computer applications
- strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- ability to follow established scheduling procedures
- capability to manage and maintain patient information accurately
- ability to collect patient payments effectively
- adaptability to learn multiple healthcare-related software systems
- commitment to providing excellent customer service
- ability to work full-time day shift
- preferred one year experience in medical office setting
- preferred knowledge of medical terminology

Job Duties
- Ensure the accuracy of all patient encounter information including demographics and insurance
- efficiently answer phone calls and transfer calls to appropriate extensions without delay
- ensure a minimum 50 percent success rate in collection of patient share of cost such as co-payments
- ensure patients have signed all necessary paperwork including welcome packets and pre-appointment documents
- verify that current authorizations are in place before scheduling patients for services
- learn and use various computer programs such as EMR, Shoretel, Chartmaxx, and Outlook to perform scheduling and receptionist duties
- maintain and update provider schedules and organize appointment schedules daily and weekly for optimal flow
- assess and troubleshoot problems with patients and referring physicians
- independently provide excellent customer service in all situations
- mentor new employees and support their skill development
- perform other related duties as assigned
