Job Description
Porter is a progressive venture operating under the esteemed One Workplace family, headquartered in Seattle, Washington. As a company deeply committed to innovation and human-centered design, Porter specializes in transforming workplaces into thoughtful, inspiring environments that foster collaboration and productivity. Their mission focuses on creating spaces that not only accommodate employees’ needs but also promote meaningful relationships, creativity, and efficiency. This approach has allowed Porter to successfully partner with both global and local industry leaders, helping them design workspaces that balance functionality with aesthetic appeal. At the heart of Porter’s culture lies a dedication to radical hospitality—a principle emphasizing sincerity, integrity, and the commitment to exceed expectations in every project and client interaction.
Porter places a strong emphasis on developing empathetic leadership and fostering an inclusive workforce. They prioritize diversity and representation across all levels of the organization, actively working to remove barriers to employment and facilitate career growth opportunities for all team members. Their commitment to equal employment opportunity ensures a workplace free from discrimination based on race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or veteran status. Located in Seattle, Porter offers a hybrid/on-site work environment that encourages flexibility and supports work-life balance.
The Client Experience Manager role at Porter is a critical strategic position that requires someone with excellent problem-solving skills, quick thinking, and creativity. As a pivotal advocate for clients, the Client Experience Manager acts as a liaison among internal teams and external partners such as designers, general contractors, project managers, installation crews, and vendors, ensuring seamless communication and execution throughout all phases of project delivery. This role involves managing all client touchpoints from initial interaction, through project planning and execution, to final installation.
Compensation for this position ranges from $90,000 to $115,000 annually, with the actual salary determined based on experience, skill set, location, and comparable roles. Beyond monetary benefits, Porter offers a robust benefits package that includes 15 days of paid time off, 8 paid holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, profit sharing, 401k with employer match, a wellness app reimbursement up to $500 per year, and a team bonus program.
The Client Experience Manager should be energetic, influential, and eager to identify and capitalize on new business opportunities, contributing to Porter’s overall growth and success. The individual will support sales management with bid opportunities, conduct early project meetings to assess client needs, budget constraints, and timelines, and bring thorough product and technical knowledge to the table. The role demands a strong focus on maintaining Porter’s reputation for integrity and creativity by influencing product selection and service solutions that exceed client expectations.
Site visits and field measurements play an essential part in the role, requiring close collaboration with the design team to provide accurate site assessments. Managing project schedules and budgets, producing final client presentations with detailed look books, budgets, validation packages, and installation documentation are all essential functions. Active participation in company meetings, learning and development initiatives, and team-building events contribute to fostering a collaborative and high-functioning work environment.
This role is tailor-made for those who bring substantial experience in the commercial interiors industry, preferably with exposure to multi-phased projects across multiple office locations or campuses in North America. Strong product knowledge of systems furniture and ancillary products, along with familiarity with Steelcase products, pricing, and discounting, will distinguish candidates. The ability to work both independently and as part of a multifaceted team is vital, as is a passion for delivering exceptional customer service to a diverse client base. While knowledge of tools such as InDesign, CAD, Smartsheet, project management software, and Photoshop is preferred, it is not essential, allowing for potential growth and learning within the position.
