The daily responsibilities include cleaning, stocking supplies, and waste removal in a variety of campus locations like residences, academic and administrative buildings, performance halls, dining areas, religious spaces, service support zones, and student life facilities.
Your duties will include washing, disinfecting, sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, scrubbing, mopping, waxing, buffing, and floor restoration tasks alongside cleaning walls, partitions, fixtures, furnishings, entrances, stairs, elevators, ramps, landings, loading docks, restrooms, corridors, offices, lounges, public areas, kitchens, laundry rooms, storage areas, doors, windows, window coverings, vents, overhead areas, ceilings, seating, and lighting fixtures. This extensive range of responsibilities illustrates the comprehensive custodial coverage required to maintain the university’s diverse environments.
Moreover, the role includes waste disposal and recycling management, supply setup for special events, conference support including restroom servicing for residential guests, and seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal and weather damage response. Feedback to improve custodial services and adherence to job safety guidelines are also crucial components of the position. As a Cleaner, you are expected to deliver high-quality work consistently and contribute to a culture of safety and efficiency.
