This role is integral to the company’s mission of ensuring timely and safe delivery of food products across various routes, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight runs. With early morning dispatches scheduled four to five days per week, this position does not require Sunday work, providing the opportunity for a balanced work-life schedule. Drivers may experience multiple night layovers with company-paid accommodations and a food stipend, enhancing comfort and support during longer routes.\n\nThe position offers competitive compensation starting at a minimum of $290 per day, plus additional component pay based on cases, miles, and stops, with average annual earnings around $75,000. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is available, subject to terms and conditions. Job Requirements

  • Minimum six months commercial driving experience
  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Valid CDL-B license
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past three years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT health card or ability to secure new DOT health card
  • Ability to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
  • Report all safety issues and repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products loaded
  • Complete accurate and legible paperwork associated with freight
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route delivery schedule
  • Unload products from trailer and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan, and contact supervisor about removing orders as per company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns on trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements
  • Secure all equipment and complete necessary paperwork at the end of the shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
