The role of Professional Driver at Allen Distribution is a part-time, flexible position offering $26.00 per hour. This role requires a reliable and experienced individual who will contribute to the safe and efficient transportation of customer products via tractor trailers. Reporting directly to the Fleet Dispatch Manager or Driver Manager, the Professional Driver will manage schedules through a mobile app that allows for shift flexibility based on availability, supporting a healthy work-life balance. Drivers are responsible for ensuring all inbound and outbound shipments are free from errors and damages while adhering strictly to DOT regulations and company policies.

The role demands a strong understanding of commercial vehicle operation, regional geography, and the ability to navigate multiple routes efficiently. Applicants must have a valid Class A license, a valid medical card, and a minimum of two years of verifiable driving experience. Candidates with experience maneuvering Class A trucks in confined spaces are preferred but not required. Job Requirements

  • Valid Class A license
  • Valid medical card
  • Minimum of 2 years verifiable driving experience
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 24 months
  • Knowledge of established DOT regulations
  • Experience maneuvering Class A truck and trailer preferred
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to climb in and out of truck cabs and trailers
  • Ability to sit or stand for long periods

Job Qualifications

  • Valid Class A license

Job Duties

  • Safely transport customer products via tractor trailer
  • Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are error and damage free
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safety policies
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report findings
  • Operate electronic communication devices and maintain accurate e-logs
  • Pick up and deliver loads on schedule while reporting any delays or issues promptly
