The role of a Driver, Dedicated Backhaul, at PFG Customized Distribution is an essential position within the company’s logistics and supply chain operations. This employment opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of $170 per shuttle plus a daily per diem of $22.50, with a work schedule from Sunday to Thursday and dispatch times as early as 10 am. They act as representatives of the company, building long-term relationships with customers through courteous and professional communication. The job entails performing detailed load and paperwork inspections, including verifying product counts, reviewing invoices, and conducting quality checks to maintain high standards of service.

Responsibilities encompass driving assigned routes to supplier, vendor, and warehouse locations based on predetermined schedules. The scope includes local deliveries as well as over-the-road assignments that may involve layovers. Drivers must ensure timely pickups and accurate product delivery to PFG warehouses, manage all required documentation accurately, and consistently update supervisors on route progress and any issues encountered. Additionally, the role includes securing equipment and completing shift-end paperwork, thereby assisting in maintaining seamless operations.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Must be 21+ years of age
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT Health Card or able to secure new DOT Health Card
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize two-wheeler, lift gate and/or other equipment to move and stack product cases/freight

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Drive to assigned supplier/vendor and/or PFG warehouse locations according to a predetermined route and delivery schedule
  • Deliver assigned loads back to PFG warehouse locations for receiving into inventory
  • Perform appropriate load and paperwork inspections including product counts and invoices
  • Check and complete in an accurate and legible fashion all the required paperwork associated with backhaul operations
  • Routinely check in with direct supervisor to confirm route, load, and schedule and advise on issues
  • Secure all equipment and complete all necessary paperwork at end of shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
