The company offers an extensive array of products, programs, and services designed to meet the evolving demands of convenience operators throughout the United States and Canada. Core-Mark's commitment to growth, innovation, and providing top-tier solutions has established the company as a pivotal force within the food distribution industry.
Core-Mark is currently seeking a Shuttle Driver to join their transportation team in Phoenix, Arizona. This role offers significant opportunities for career growth while performing essential work supporting America's food distribution system. Employment with Core-Mark includes competitive pay, offering up to $75,000 in the first year, alongside a robust benefits package that includes day-one health and wellness benefits, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching, education assistance, paid time off, and a safe, inclusive working environment that values rewards, recognition, and respect.
The Shuttle Driver will play an integral part in Core-Mark's operational efficiency, responsible for transporting empty trailers to various warehouse locations within the company’s network and subsequently delivering fully loaded trailers to designated domicile or shuttle yard locations. This role requires driving tandem trailers, tractor trailers, or straight trucks on both intrastate and interstate routes, ensuring timely and safe deliveries while strictly adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Additionally, the Shuttle Driver will maintain professional communication with customers, vendors, and coworkers, facilitating smooth operational flow and upholding Core-Mark’s high standards of service and safety.
Key responsibilities for the Shuttle Driver include conducting required vehicle safety checks such as pre-trip and post-trip inspections; ensuring compliance with DOT regulations and company safety guidelines; properly handling route paperwork; following predetermined delivery schedules; performing safe hook and unhook procedures; securing equipment and freight; managing damaged goods and customer returns; unloading equipment and materials; maintaining accurate records of hours of service; and keeping work areas clean and organized. This critical role demands physical capability, including the ability to lift and move freight weighing between 60 to 90 pounds and use equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.
The position is scheduled Sunday through Wednesday, from 5:00 PM to 3:00 AM, with a requirement to reside within the Phoenix, Arizona area. Candidates must hold a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) Class A with doubles and triples endorsements, meet all state licensing and certification requirements, and possess a clean motor vehicle record for the past three years. Successful applicants will also have passed the pre-employment drug and road tests, along with having or being able to secure a current DOT Health Card.
Core-Mark values diversity and inclusion and is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to providing reasonable accommodations to applicants with disabilities. This opportunity is ideal for motivated drivers seeking a rewarding career with a leading company in the food distribution sector that prioritizes safety, growth, and employee well-being.
