Job Description

Core-Mark, a division of Performance Food Group, stands as an industry leader in providing fresh and broadline solutions to the convenience retail sector. With a solid reputation for empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has emerged as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods in North America. The company offers a full spectrum of products, programs, and innovative solutions catered specifically to convenience operators across the United States and Canada. Core-Mark is committed to delivering outstanding service while upholding high standards of quality, safety, and operational excellence.

The role available is a Transportation position based in Lincoln, Nebraska, offering an hourly wage of $30. This full-time position plays a vital role in ensuring timely and safe delivery of food and related products. The position involves driving a tractor-trailer on both intrastate and interstate routes, which demands compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations strictly. Candidates will take on leadership responsibilities, including mentoring and training fellow drivers, helpers, and yard drivers. The role requires effective communication and professionalism when interacting with customers, vendors, and team members to ensure that all inquiries are handled quickly and accurately.

The driver will perform essential pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections to ensure the truck and trailer meet all company and DOT standards. They will verify product counts against customer invoices during loading and unloading, oversee the securing of loads at delivery points, and ensure the accurate completion of all related paperwork. Additionally, the role involves handling cash or check collections where necessary and managing returns or damaged goods properly. Core-Mark values team members who contribute positively to the work environment by maintaining clean, organized workspaces and by performing other duties as assigned to best serve the company. This position offers an attractive compensation package with first-year earnings between $75,000 and $84,000, including base pay, overtime, and bonus pay. Employees are also eligible for annual merit increases and enjoy a Monday through Friday work schedule with overtime paid after 40 hours.

Leadership is an integral part of this role, with the responsibility of leading a team of six delivery drivers, reinforcing the company’s dedication to collaborative growth and operational efficiency. Core-Mark’s commitment to equal employment opportunity underscores its inclusive culture, providing equal chances for all applicants and employees regardless of background, ensuring a diverse and welcoming workplace. This position is ideal for experienced commercial drivers with a valid CDL, medical qualification according to DOT requirements, and a background in foodservice industry logistics is preferred. OSHA forklift certification and team leadership experience are additional assets that would enhance performance in this role. Joining Core-Mark means becoming part of an organization that values safety, professionalism, and customer satisfaction at its core, while offering a supportive and rewarding work environment for its employees.
